The registration forms are available below if you would like to fill them out prior to coming to the counseling office.

Please note: BOCES will accept late regisrations for Regents Examinations. Requests must be made by July 14. Any student needing to register for a Regents Exam after July 14 will be considered a walk-in.
Junior High - Held at Oriskany Jr./Sr. High School
- All students failing (final average of 64 or lower) one or two of the following courses, must take and pass those classes in summer school to be eligible for promotion: Math, English, Science, Social Studies
- All students failing three of the above-listed courses may either be retained in that grade or promoted with summer school requirements, depending on Principal’s decision.
- All students failing all four of the above-listed courses will be retained in that grade.
High School – Held at TR Proctor High School, Utica
- Any students failing (final average of 64 or lower) any of the following courses are strongly encouraged to register for and attend summer school, as we cannot guarantee that we can schedule the failed courses the following year: English, Math, Social Studies, Science
- Additionally, in order to be eligible for promotion to the next grade level students must have at least 5 ½ credits to be considered a sophomore and 11 credits to be considered a junior. Students that do not meet these requirements will not be allowed to take courses at that grade level.
We do not provide busing for summer school. Students are responsible for their own transportation.
There is no fee for summer school.
The Excelsior Scholarship application is now available. It can be accessed by going to the HESC website (www.hesc.ny.gov) and clicking on the Excelsior Scholarship button. It is imperative that you read the information and instructions carefully and thoroughly prior to applying for the scholarship. The application deadline is listed on the site as July 21, 2017.
Information on Enhanced Tuition Awards for students attending private schools within the state of New York is also available on the website.

MVCC GenCyber Summer Camps (Utica Campus)
GenCyber is designed to show high school students how much fun cybersecurity can be. Please see the flyer below for details.
Camps start August 14 and run Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm. Camps are fee and seats are limited so apply today!
MVCC Summer Program Opportunities
MVCC is offering the following summer programs on their Rome campus:
Cyber Accelerator Bridge Program - CI 104 Introduction to Cybersecurity - Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9am-12pm, July 11-August 10
This course introduces basic networking, assessing and handlling of security risks, hardware components, and basic computer troublshooting. The course is designed for high school students who have basic computing skills and are seeking a broader knowledge in the field.

- Three credits
- The opportunity to received the CompTIA Strata IT Fundamentals professional certification
- Prepartation for cybersecurity program class in network,computer security operation systems

Introduction to Hospitality Industry (10:15-12:20) and Safety and Sanitation (12:30-2:25) - Monday-Thursday, July 10-August 1
There is no tuition charged for these courses in which you will earn college credits; however, stundents will be financially responsible for associated fees and course-related materials. See the flyer below for registration information.
College Connection is a scholarship program in which qualified seniors may take approved courses on a part-time basis at MVCC. Students must have a GPA of 80 or higher, take the MVCC Placement test and socre into credit bearing coursework, and have approval by the school. Cost for the program is approximately $55 plus books and lab feees, if applicable. The registration deadline for summer coursework is May 19 and the deadline for fall coursework is June 30th. Please keep in mind that the placement test must be completed and appropriate paperwork must be submitted prior to registering for classes, so interested students must plan ahead. The College Connection brochure and registration procedure are inlcuded below. Interested students must contact Mrs. Ellis for paperwork and approval.

College Credits for Dual Enrollment
Seniors - College credits earned through dual enrollment with any college or university or earned any other way whiile in high school will not appear on your high school transcript, which includes only high school credits. If you want your intended college to be informed of any college credits earned, you must contact the college through which the credits were earned and request that they send a transcript to your intended college. MVCC transcripts can be requested at www.mvcc.edu/registrar/transcripts.
