Mid-Winter Break Into Careers
School and Business Alliance (SABA) is coordinating 20-hour unpaid internships to be done during mid-winter break (Saturday, February 16 - Saturday, February 23) for eligible juniors and seniors. Students participate in the internship in a career area of their choice and will receive a Certificate of Completion. In order to qualify students must:
*Have demonstrated excellent attendance
*Provide their own transportation
*Be approved by their school counselor
Applications are available in the counseling office and online and are due by Friday, January 25. Please call 768-3395 if you have any questions.
Streams to Success
The Rome Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) Federal Women's Program will hold a one-day event for young women in grades 6-12 at the Air Force Research Lab on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 from 9am-1pm. Students will enjoy speakers as well as shadow/tour with AFRL professional women.
Eligible students must also:
- Complete the application, printing neatly and clearly with a parent signature
- Completet a short essay expressing their interest in attending the event
- Be a US Citizen
- Provide their own/parent transportation-the school does not provide busing to this event

Keep Calm and Nurse On
Sitrin Health Care Center is offering a career-building opportunity with their Keep Calm and Nurse On Scholarsip Program. The program is geared toward high school juniors and seniors to introduce them to the filed of nursing, with the goal of developing them into Certified Nurse Assistants and giving them their first step to a career. The scholarships will cover the costs for the CNA program through MVCC. Once candidates have successfully completed the training and become certified, they will be hired as CNA's at Sitrin. Scholarship recipients are selected based on application, interview process, personal essay and other criteria.
Please come to the counseling office for an application. Appications are due March 15, 2019.
Seniors - Registration for College Connection Spring 2019 will begin November 19, 2018 with a deadline of December 14, 2018. Please see the Course Selection Guide for additional information. Registration information is available in the counseling office. New registrations must allow time for placement testing, etc. prior to the deadline.

College Credits for Dual Enrollment
Seniors - College credits earned through dual enrollment with any college or university or earned any other way whiile in high school will not appear on your high school transcript, which includes only high school credits. If you want your intended college to be informed of any college credits earned, you must contact the college through which the credits were earned and request that they send a transcript to your intended college. MVCC transcripts can be requested at www.mvcc.edu/registrar/transcripts.
