• On Oct. 19, New York Mills student council members helped clean the yards of senior citizens in the community for the sixth consecutive year as part of the Intergenerational Clean-Up Project. The program is spearheaded by the Oneida County Youth Bureau and Oneida County Office for the Aging/Continuing Care and takes place twice a year -- in the spring and fall.

More than 500 youth volunteers participated and spent the day raking, picking up leaves and even getting a few hugs from some grateful seniors. We are proud of our student council for continuing to take part in this meaningful community collaboration!
