Meet the Teachers

Mrs. Arifa Velletto

Mrs. Arifa Velletto is the elementary art teacher. She has been teaching art to students in grades K-12 for the past 10 years. She has been at New York Mills School District since 2019. Mrs. Velletto holds a Bachelors in Art Education and Masters in Elementary Education/Special Education along with NYState Certifications in all three areas. Her true passion is teaching Art, and in addition to teaching at NYM, she travels to BOCES daily to teach Alternative Ed. Art. Mrs. Velletto appreciates and loves all mediums of art, and wants to help her students understand and appreciate art through exploration of different mediums, art history and hands-on projects. Her art room is a space where students can let their thoughts and creativity run wild.
