Investing in Our Future: A Capital Project for Our School and Community
Our school district is undertaking a comprehensive Capital Project to enhance our facilities and support our commitment to providing an exceptional learning environment. This initiative reflects our vision of creating a highly regarded school district, ensuring our buildings are safe, modern and conducive to learning. With a total cost of $5,550,000, the project is funded through a combination of our District's Capital Reserves and Construction Bonds. We expect the construction to take place from spring 2025 to fall 2026 and to be completed in three phases.
What is Included in the Project?
This project is designed to address both significant facility upgrades and essential maintenance, ensuring our buildings serve our students and staff effectively for years to come. The scope of work is broken down as follows:
Major Upgrades and Renovations:
- Auditorium upgrades and improvements to enhance a vital space for student performances, assemblies and community events.
- Student bathroom facilities renovation to modernize and improve our facilities for better hygiene and comfort.
- Security vestibule and main entrance reconstruction to strengthen the security of our main entrance and create a safer environment.
- 7-12 gymnasium renovation to upgrade our gymnasium and better support physical education, athletics and schoolwide activities.
Essential Building Upgrades:
- Reconstruction of damaged floors in four second-floor classrooms.
- Exterior sealants and repointing at brickwork and the chimney to protect our building's structure.
- Upgrades to fire alarm and carbon monoxide detection systems to ensure the highest level of safety.
- Roof reconstruction to protect our school from the elements for years to come.
These improvements are a direct investment in the safety, well-being and academic success of our students and a testament to our continued pride and commitment to actively serving and improving our community.
