The purpose of this AP course is to learn about different societies and how they interact throughout the ages. This course seeks to develop your ability to analyze changes throughout historical time periods and link their consequences to the modern era. By focusing on primary resource documents, we will develop the analytical skills needed to be successful in today's society. Rather than focusing on continents or states, we study cultural regions or civilizations. We will study the technological, cultural, and institutional developments and their interactions with geography for each of the major civilizations.
