Career Day
On May 28, students in grades six through eight at New York Mills were introduced to a wide array of career paths during the school's Career Day. This highly successful event was made possible thanks to a special collaboration with the Oneida-Herkimer-Madison (OHM) BOCES School and Business Alliance (SABA).
Students had a fantastic opportunity to discover and learn about different career paths from the following presenters, featuring a keynote by Sara Miller from MVCC:
- Edward's Ambulance – Emrah Suljanovic
- First Source Federal Credit Union – Eddie Barone
- Griffiss Institute – Robert Kaminski
- Mohawk Valley Community Action Agency (MVCAA) – Daisy Rosa
- Mohawk Valley Community College (MVCC) – Sara Miller
- Oneida County Sheriff's Department – Deputy Boyko
- Rome Fire Department – Justin Cianfrocco
- SUNY Polytechnic Institute – Malik Johnson
- Utica Public Library – Ray Hart
A special thank-you to the OHM BOCES SABA for their invaluable help in organizing this event. We also extend our sincere gratitude to all the businesses and industry professionals who generously volunteered their time to present to our students.
