Class of 2026 Commencement

On June 26, the 40 members of the Class of 2026 became the newest graduates of New York Mills Jr./Sr. High School. During the annual commencement ceremony, family members, friends, faculty and staff gathered to celebrate the accomplishments of the graduating class and recognize the hard work, dedication and perseverance that brought them to this important milestone.

Superintendent Mrs. LaGase opened the ceremony, followed by K-12 Executive Principal Mrs. Facci’s address. Mrs. Facci recognized co-valedictorians Abbey Calhoun and Mark Klein Jr. as well as salutatorian Asah Bova. Valedictory and salutatory addresses were then delivered by Mark Klein Jr, Asah Bova and Abbey Calhoun, speaking as Class of 2026 president.

Following a senior song selection, “Erev Shel Shoshanim (Evening of Roses)” (music by Josef Hadar, lyrics by Moshe Dor), the student-selected speaker, Mrs. Michelle Hartmann, addressed the graduates and shared words of encouragement as they prepare to begin the next chapter of their lives.

The highlight of the evening was the presentation of diplomas to each graduate by Mrs. LaGase, Mrs. Facci and Interim K-12 Principal Mrs. DiSpirito. As the seniors were officially declared graduates, Mrs. Facci led them in the traditional turning of the tassel, marking the culmination of their high school careers. The ceremony concluded with the singing of the alma mater and a recessional led by the New York Mills High School band.

Congratulations to the New York Mills Class of 2026! We wish each graduate continued success and happiness as they pursue their goals, embrace new opportunities and begin the next stage of their journey.
