Elementary Student of the Month Assembly
On October 25, the New York Mills Elementary held their Student of the Month assembly. Two awards were given to students including the Kid of Character Award and the Principal’s Award.
The Kid of Character Award is given by each teacher to students in their class that best represent character traits being studied each month through the Positivity Project. Some of the traits that teachers are looking for in our students include teamwork, open mindedness, gratitude, bravery and creativity. These students are awarded a certificate and a special school pencil. Forty students were recognized for the Kid of Character Award!
For the Principal’s Award, one student is chosen per grade level by a team of staff members that displays good effort, excellent character, sets good examples for their classmates, has good behavior, is a strong leader and demonstrates excellent attendance. These students are awarded with a “Pizza with the Principal” party. There were seven students recognized with the Principal’s Award!
We are so proud of all of our elementary students and look forward to their future accomplishments!
