New York Mills UFSD Celebrates Child Health Day

Board member, assemblywoman and principal pose for photo with NYS Assembly resolution

On October 4, Assemblywoman Marianne Buttenschon of the 119th New York State Assembly District visited the New York Mills Union Free School District. Assemblywoman Buttenschon presented the fifth grade classes with the Assembly’s resolution declaring October 7, 2024 as Child Health Day in New York State.

Each year, National Child Health Day is celebrated on the first Monday of October to show support for children’s health and recognize the care and guidance children need to grow healthy and strong.

Assemblywoman Buttenschon spoke to students about the importance of staying active and maintaining healthy habits, and students were enthusiastic and had thoughtful responses. The students then participated in their physical education class warmups.

Thank you to Assemblywoman Buttenschon for visiting and presenting this resolution to New York Mills students!
