Student Council
On Oct. 19, New York Mills student council members helped clean the yards of senior citizens in the community for the sixth consecutive year as part of the Intergenerational Clean-Up Project. The program is spearheaded by the Oneida County Youth Bureau and Oneida County Office for the Aging/Continuing Care and takes place twice a year -- in the spring and fall.
More than 500 youth volunteers participated and spent the day raking, picking up leaves and even getting a few hugs from some grateful seniors. We are proud of our student council for continuing to take part in this meaningful community collaboration!
