Code of Conduct Statement
Dear Parents, Guardians, and School Community Members,
June is fast approaching and with it the many events and activities that accompany the end of each school year. A variety of field trips, picnics, and ceremonies taking place during the next several weeks will undoubtedly bring many parents and visitors to our school district.
We are always pleased to have parents, families, and community members attend school events and activities; however, we ask that you keep in mind that all visitors must abide by the school district’s Policy #1030, CODE OF CONDUCT FOR THE MAINTENANCE OF PUBLIC ORDER ON SCHOOL PROPERTY AND AT SCHOOL FUNCTIONS. This Code of Conduct applies to our students, faculty, staff, parents, and community members; in fact, it sets the standard for the conduct of all students, employees, and visitors while on school property or at school-sponsored events.
The purpose of the Code of Conduct is to hold all adults and students of the school district to shared standards of appropriate behavior in order to maintain a positive learning environment and model respectful conduct for the children of our school community. Please visit our website at www.newyorkmills.org and review the district’s Code of Conduct, Policy #1030 under Board of Education/Policies/Section 1000/Community Relations if you would like to review the document in its entirety. If you have questions about our Code of Conduct or any other Board Policy, feel free to contact Kathy Houghton, Superintendent of Schools at 768-8127 or firstname.lastname@example.org
Thank you for your continued involvement in the education of our K-12 students. Best wishes to you and your family for a successful end of the 2015-16 school year and an enjoyable summer.
Kathy Houghton, Superintendent
