NYM Announces New K-12 Executive Principal

The New York Mills Union Free School District Board of Education appointed Mary Facci to the position of K-12 Executive Principal at their meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2016.
Mrs. Facci is currently the assistant principal at Donovan Middle School in the Utica City School District, where she has worked since 2007. She will begin her duties as K-12 Executive Principal on Friday, January 6, 2017, having been selected to replace Michael Spost, who left the position on December 2, 2016.
“We are excited to welcome Mrs. Mary Facci to New York Mills,” said Superintendent of Schools Kathy Houghton. “Mary comes to us with experience as both an administrator and a teacher. She is committed to working on our school improvement efforts and becoming an integral member of the New York Mills school community.”
Previously, Mrs. Facci taught grades 4 and 5 at Utica’s Columbus Elementary School from 1998-2007.
She earned a Bachelor’s degree in education from SUNY Oneonta, a Master’s degree in Reading and a Certificate of Advanced Study in Administration and Supervision from SUNY Cortland. Mrs. Facci is permanently certified as a teacher of PreK-6 and K-12 Reading and also as a School District Administrator.
